Is there any room in the smart ID card to accommodate other value-added applications?
There is room set aside on the card to be able to add many apllications. This may require the issuance of a card with more storage if the need arises.
What type of reader is ued to read or store information on the card?
The type of reader used is a generic contactless reader which will aid in improving the life span of the card since it is not necessary for the card to come in contact with the reader.
Can another company use their own reader for their own applications?
Another company can use their own applications to read and write data to designated areas on the card. The application must meet all processing guidelines before this can be done.
Where can I use my smart card in public?
The card can be used in stores/shops authorised by the government. The cards can also be used within public libraries provided the library uses an authorised application.
Can I block my card if it is stolen or lost?
Citizens can login to the site and report the card as stolen or lost. when this is done the card will be flagged and therefore cannot be used for loading information or transaction.
Can anyone read the information on my card?
Only authorised aplications and personnel can read the information on the card. The hasa unique master key and each application on the card is also protected.
Can anyone have access to the information stored on the central database?
All information stored within the database is encrypted. The only way to access to to use the application provided by the company.
